Saydie’s new music video “Yawa” Proves Kat Is Still Queen
Yawa nakakagutom. Saydie blends horror-satire and heavy riffs, proving Kat Taylor still wears the crown—campy visuals, brutal hooks, pure Pinoy metal.
Mga Rakista, Yawa nakakagutom! Late drop man from Nov 1 Halloween, pero hindi ito palalagpasin. Saydie serves horror-satire na parang commercial break from hell, sabay bigat ng riffing na kumakapit. From the first frame, klaro na: Kat Taylor still wears the crown, steady lethal, steady alluring.
Female-fronted metal royalty since 2003, Saydie proves na hindi lang sila legacy act — they are a living threat. The MV plays with camp at karne, tawa at takot, lambing at lagim. Sa kombinasyon ng visual grit at vocal bite, “Yawa” hits like a craving na ayaw tumigil hanggang sumabog ang last chorus.
The MV opens with a cheeky ad spoof for Yawa Bites longanisa — hindi tunay na ad, part ng kwento. Then the kitchen-from-hell montage takes over: meat grinder, slippery chopping board, steaming links close-up, and a blood-slick dance cut. It’s camp, it’s horror, it’s OPM metal that plays with tropes and bites hard. Presented by Multomedia, directed with a wicked grin, delivered with a hammer.
Sonically, the band punches on down-tuned chugs and stop-start stabs while leaving space for Kat’s lines to stab deeper. The verses coil tight, then the hook lets the steam out. Yung timpla ay seductive plus sinister — borderline love and threat. Crowd-ready ang “marching” cadence sa huli, pang-fist-in-the-air na sabayan.
Lyric moments na tumama:
You TASTED better in the rain
You TASTED better WIDE AWAKE
I’D KILL YOU TOO”
In 14 days
It must be Saturday
YOUR BRIDERS ARE HEADLESS
YOUR BRIDES ARE HEADLESS,
MARCHING ON!!!!
MARCHING ON!!!!
Interpretation time. Parody ad sets the trap, then the band drops the blade. The taste motif turns affection into appetite for justice. Sa chopping board, bawat hiwa ng kutsilyo ay katumbas ng bawat excuse at kasinungalin na narinig mo. Headless brides, parade of empty vows.
Performance-wise, Kat Taylor stays magnetic. Close-up delivery, sly smiles, then sudden snarl. The band keeps the engine hot, pulling back when the camera needs breath, then slamming sa drop. Visual pacing matches the riffs: mabilis, then menacing pause, then sabog ulit.
