    LIVING ROOM SESSIONS

Inspired by Ride, Chapterhouse, The Jesus And Mary Chain, Adorable and My Bloody Valentine, childhood friends Dale, Ron and Elmer formed Sonnet LVIII in 1992. Ron's brother, Romel, and his friend Gonzalo joined a couple of months later. They hung out in Ron's living room and wrote songs incessantly, most of which were about their daydreams and reveries. Those living room sessions were turned a notch higher as the following years went by, where Sonnet LVIII were already playing in numerous clubs around Metro Manila including Club Dredd, Mayric's, Café Romeo and Music Museum and was an integral part of the...    less

After reaching the number one spot in one of the most prominent FM radio charts in the Philippines and peaking at number two on Spotify Philippines Viral 50 with “Selos,” the vowels they orbit returns with a brand new single under Sony Music Philippines.
An easy listening number that showcases the band’s more relaxed and technically adept side, their second single “Kiliti” is a song about finding the perfect someone in an imperfect situation. It tackles a kind of love that is capable of surmounting the greatest odds under any circumstances.
“The song was written by Nikka back in college a few years ago with just her guitar,” says Darwin Hernandez, the band’s manager and Soupstar Entertainment’s head honcho. “The full band arrangements were done by all the members and was produced by Rye Sarmiento, who is also the guitarist of 6cyclemind and Banda Ni Kleggy.”

It doesn’t mean to strike back or to get revenge. It motivates the victim to stand up, shove the dirt, and make use of his/her personal expressions to battle out his hurtful experiences.” The frontman also stated that it was music who helped them cope up and regain their self-esteem hence choosing it as a channel for expression.

Woodstock just turned fifty and the idea of that annual three-day celebration of peace, love and music in the Catskill Mountains in New York still never felt so old. Hundreds of thousands were in attendance then, all for the event's spiritual alignment with the anti-war movement. And just like before, MUSIC UNITES!
Spearheaded by AdCamp, MAKE COLLAB NOT WAR, a concert tour, was launched October last year, in the aim to establish a collaboration amongst local venues, productions and artists from different parts of the country. And this year, they are bringing it back with more venues.
From Balanga City, Bataan to the cities of Metro Manila (Quezon City and BGC), Pagsanjan, Laguna in the South all the way to Baguio City, Cauayan City and Tuguegarao City in the North, up and coming, local independent musicians will once again share the stage to promote ‘bayanihan’ in the coolest possible way.
Bands like The MotherCampers (OPM/indie rock), Bread & Butter (alternative rock), Friends’ Fries (pop rock), Newearth...    less

Singer-songwriter folk pop artist Syd Hartha opens up to the public about her experience with her father, former Eraserheads lead guitarist Marcus Adoro.

On Thursday, Syd managed to break her silence and spoke up about the sensitive topic of abuse and how she grew up looking for a father. It says so in her statement that in a span of almost a year of finally getting connected with him (Adoro), then she came to experience different kinds of abuse; eventually realizing why she was protected and was kept a safe distance from her own father.
Syd wrapped up her lengthy and heart-wrenching post by saying she still carries the fear up to this day, that history might repeat itself or to another victim.
Included in the photos that went with the post was a conversation with Barbara Ruaro, her dad’s ex-partner who was first to speak up about experiencing abuse albeit not dropping any names when she posted it.
