From frontman Sud's back tat which means, "From delight we came into existence", we now exist in delight from all the good that's been happening to the band and all our peers in the scene. A current line-up of 5 members strong with Sud Ballecer on vocals and guitar,Jimbo Cuenco on drums, Kohl Aguilar on keys, Carlos Dela Fuente on sax, Raisa Racelis on bass, SUD is still on a mission for your pleasure, but way better and way more different. “Sana Bumalik” is a song that talks about the simplest, most basic core of longing for something you’ve lost. May it be a break up, death in the family, friendship, what have you, losing something you never wished to lose is always painful. And the song talks about just that- the dark place we find ourselves in when we’re in state of grief. All the conversations you have with a memory. The pleading for something you know you can never have again. Line per line is vivid display of defeat, irony, indecision, wastage, and desolation all rolled up in one bite-size sushi of a song. But as much as the track is undemanding and elementary, the music behind the straightforward lyrics is just as grand and immense; almost like the perfect musical score to a downcast scene in a film. This is also SUD’s first heartbreak song. A tearjerker of a soundtrack even for the happiest of people. SUD is OPM’s hottest when it comes to the band scene, so don’t forget to like their official Facebook page for updates on their amazing music. You can also follow them on Twitter and Instagram, and catch them in videos by subscribing to their official YouTube channel.   For only the best in international and local music, like and follow Warner Music Philippines’ official Facebook page, Twitter and Instagram. EARTH DAY JAM 2018 Interactive Earth Day Jam 2018 returns to Quezon City Memorial Circle Venue The longest running music event for the environment Earth Day Jam 2018 returns to one of its original concert venues; the Quezon City Memorial Circle on April 28, 2018 starting at 5pm. It is a milestone for this annual live music event which continues to influence Filipinos through music and education to be responsible in caring more for planet Earth’s well-being.   “It is a historic period for Earth Day Jam fans who have followed this annual music event over many summer years for Mother Earth. Quezon Memorial Circle brings back insightful memories about the festival’s roots and itss expanding environmental advocacies,” recalls Earth Day Jam founder singer Lou Bonnevie.   This years adapted theme for Earth Day Jam emphasizes on key elements Water, Air and Trash (WAT). It is a running advocacy that has kept Earth Day Jam grounded with the youth, development organizations and government institutions working on environment welfare and protection.   “Everybody has a key role when it comes to conserving the environment. We can protect Mother Earth through simple things like conserving water, keeping the air we breathe clean and managing an almost zero trash environment,” said Bonnevie.   True to the festival’s defining environmental global theme, Earth Day Jam 2018 seeks to attract even more Filipinos this year, particularly the younger generation, to become sensibly pro-active on its overall campaign to save planet Earth. “It is not enough being able to simply like or post all your support for the Earth on-line. It does not work that way! We want everybody to really start participating, do their personal share through simple things like planting trees and reducing their personal carbon footprints.”   More Jam Sessions: Known for its epic live pop music (open air) stagings, Earth Day Jam 2018 is set to feature over 100 musicians. “It is a grand combination between new and senior musicians in a single night of great music. It is something you look forward to in every Earth Day Jam event. Moreover, this event remains is open and free to the public,” says Bonnevie.   Featured artists for Earth Day Jam 2018 include Abra, Barbie Almalbis, Chicosi, Grace Note, Joey Ayala, Lou Bonnevie, Mayonnaise, Philia, Rouge, Sandwich, Sud, Tanya Markova, the Chongkeys and Wally Gonzalez joined by Wolfgang guitarist Manuel Legarda and introducing ace guitar protégé Gabriel Lazaro. Special guest artists shall include LA “grassroot” rapper Aw Day P. “He (AW Day P) will be specially flying in from LA for Earth Day Jam 2018. He is a very talented musician who agreed to jam with us for this Mother Earth celebration,” said Bonnevie. The Jam will be hosted by award winning actor Alvin Anson, award winning indie film actress Phoebe Walker, TV personality Pam Nieva and the Earthday Jam Foundation’s Corporate Secretary and youth spokesperson Midi Gentica.    Recognizing contributions to various environmental campaigns and artist’s musical legacy, Earth Day Jam 2018 will extend a special citation to Filipino singer and known environmentalist Joey Ayala, who does a rare Earth Day Jam stint with junior musicians.   Special guest resource speakers include experts and official from DENR, Earthday Jam Foundations’ partner in this endeavor with environmental luminaries supporting the event by short discussions on the most critical environmental issues.   More Interactive campaign: With support from the Local Government of QC, this year’s Earth Day Jam will have a more interactive campaign. Early participants can avail of Earth Day Jam 2018’s interactive booths showcasing art and drum sessions, an environmental puppet show, electric vehicle display, biking demo, organic stalls and other interesting exhibitions. “These exhibiting booths engage people to learn about Mother Earth through actual social participation with other guests.” There will also be a film showing featuring environmental documentaries before the concert.   The Earthday Jam Recyclable Trading will take place starting at 3 pm with the Quezon City Government spearheading the campaign on recycling with participants who will be bringing in paper, pet bottles and aluminum cans receiving concert VIP pass and freebies. Anti-trash Experiment: A special waste garbage collection activity will be implemented throughout the concert. “It is an experimental activity wherein concert goers are encouraged to collect accumulated garbage during event and weigh them after so that they can see how much trash can be accumulated from throwing garbage,” said Bonnevie. Earth Day Jam regularly uses this anti-garbage exercise for actual public awareness.   GAIA Awards: The Foundation’s own “GAIA Awards” will be bestowing individuals and organizations who have successfully contributed to the welfare of the overall environmental campaign and advocacy efforts in the Philippines. This year’s awardees include green advocates Gina Lopez, Ipat Luna and the Environmental Science Institute of Miriam College along with Earthday Jam supporters Abra and Brownman Revival in the category of Earth friendly music artists. Special Citations will be given to the Peace and Equity Foundation and Lifebank Foundation. Pre-Concert Contest: Raising awareness before actual concert, Earth Day Jam 2018 shall also launch “Future Green”. This special on-line initiative engages Filipinos to submit their best ideas concerning renewable energy on Earth Day Jam’s official social media page. The top ten ingenuities will be announced during the event.   Earthday Jam 2018 is presented by the Earthday Jam Foundation in cooperation with the DENR and the Quezon City Government.       Sponge Cola is back with an interesting pair of songs to close out 2017 and at the same time open 2018. Fresh off their latest hit “Bahaghari," the band is set to release “Tempura" and “Kunwari."   Universal Records proudly launches "Kunwari" alongside "Tempura".   Bassist Gosh Dilay penned the bittersweet “Kunwari," that despite being a lighthearted song, deals with something everyone is all too familiar with: unrequited love. Framed by Dilay's trademark Filipino, “Kunwari” emphasizes the push and pull between being eager risk takers, and safe calculated people when it comes to love.   Both “Tempura" and “Kunwari” are available on all digital platforms!

After almost a decade, one of the best Pinoy metal bands, SkyChurch released their new official music video for their song “Perspective” that was uploaded last Tuesday, May 29, 2018, on their YouTube channel.   The shots from the said music video were taken from the bands live performance in Japan with a group of Japanese performing artists called “Contact Gonzo” and it was mixed with some shots of SkyChurch’s playing in an abandoned storage house somewhere in Cavite. You can hear the repeated phrase “You can be what you want to be, it’s all up to you” from the lyrics which is also the main message of the song. It was directed by Boriz Vicente of CDM pictures and produced by the band itself and Numinous Management.   SkyChurch is composed of Dela Cruz brothers, Russel on Bass and vocals, and Robert on drums and vocals. Joining them is Jomal Linao on guitars which also plays guitar for Kamikazee.   Here is SkyChurch new official music video for their song “Perspective”

It’s been a month since Wilabaliw released their official music video of their first Tagalog song entitled “Hindi Na Makita”. It is also the first song that was released in Filipino language by Ian Tayao.   Since the song was written in Tagalog, the concept of the music video has elements of Filipino folk monsters. The lyrics were dark and at the same time deep, enough for the listeners to ask more questions about greed, politics, power or basically, about life. The said music video was produced by Wilabaliw and Tower Of Doom’s Carlos Perlas and Eric Perlas. It was also directed by the band’s frontman, Ian Tayao.     Wilabaliw is composed of Ian Tayao on vocals, Louis Isok on guitars, Keith Francisco on Bass and Jesso Montejo on drums.   Here is the official music video of “Hindi Na Makita” by Wilabaliw

It’s been a year and a half since they released their last music video. And yesterday, June 10, 2018, NU Metal band, Saydie released their new official music video for their latest single “Yokai” that was uploaded on their official YouTube Channel.         The music video was directed by Avid Liongoren, who also directed the band’s first music video for their song “Krolithika”, and Manny Angeles of Twenty Manila. The concept is more of a band playing live in an old and empty garage. It shows hatred and revenge which is also the message of the song. “It’s a dirty video about abuse and revenge” said vocalist, Kat Taylor. “It’s about someone who has a hatred of men because of the actions of an abuser, and how she gets even.”         “Yokai” is their first single from the band’s upcoming third album. It prominently displays Saydie’s early 2000s NU metal musical influences, with a sound driven by downtuned guitars, industrial synthesizers, and subversive lyrics. The song is also the band’s first collaboration with a guest musician, vocalist Ian Tayao of Wilabaliw and Queso.   Saydie is composed of Kat Taylor on vocals, Karl Kliatchko and Lehmann Flores on guitars, Kurt Corpus on bass, and Josh Madrid on drums.         Here is Saydie’s new official music video for their song “Yokai”

Alternative Rock band Talata releases music video for their song "Bride".     It's not that usual to see bands having animated music videos for their songs. Ofcourse, there are some bands who've already done that but Talata's music video for their song "Bride" is something else. It's so detailed in every aspect that you'll definitely feel the emotions of the song with the help of the visuals. The animated music video was created by Karlo Strat Ancheta and Ivan Bartolome.    You can check out Talata's new music video below!

There is definitely no stopping - nor slowing-down - the consistent run of one of the Philippines’ most successful top live-draws, FRANCO. If the past year was highlighted with successful single releases, countless of packed concert venues and attendance-breaking live festival appearances all over the country, 2018 – this early-on – is about to witness yet another tour de force from the critically acclaimed group, whose knack for modern rock anthems and an unparalleled live performance ethic have already solidified their spot into the annals of OPM history.             First and foremost, the band’s latest full-length release Flight, is an impressive onslaught of powerhouse songwriting and musical dynamism; filled-to-the-brim with 10 surefire hits (including the previously released singles “Best I Ever,” “Mondaze” and “Breaking For The Weekend…”), the disc – released under Warner Music Singapore for international territories – is easily one of the strongest and most exciting releases to start the year right.             Fueled by the carrier track “All Nighter,” which boasts of diversified songwriting and musical direction flavored with jangly guitar riffs from both chief lyricist/songwriter/guitarist Franco Reyes and guitarist Paul “Pauldo” Cañada, an almost dance-able drum-beat from skinsman Victor Guison and a solid, modern-rock thumping and low-end from bassist Dave Delfin, loyal aficionados and pundits are definitely going to marvel at the musical maturity and sense of experimentation, as the song is surely another ace-up-the-sleeve kind of single even the most serious music fans would have never been able to foresee… in short, Franco (the band) is still out to prove that great music is never predictable nor formulaic, as almost all of the timeless greats that came before them have proven.               “It was a very refreshing feeling,” claims Reyes, when asked about the creative process behind Flight, the band’s first official collaborative effort. “We’re very satisified with the results, and a good sign that we can work together effectively, for this and for more songs in the future.”             Of course, there’s still a lot of the vintage FRANCO sound and spirit available all throughout Flight: from the dark n’ sexy vibe of album opener “Afterburn,” the vocally soaring and ultra-catchy urgency of “Last Word” (possibly another live, sing-along crowd favorite…), infectious rock-reggae hybrids “Lost In Your Universe” and “Aurora Sunrise” and a modern-rock flavored and ultra-moody gem “Goodbye, Goodnight” closing the album, fans and even not-so-longtime listeners would be wise to hear it for themselves as it is now available through Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music and Amazon Music.             Coinciding with the release of Flight is the exciting news that FRANCO is still effortlessly riding the top of the waves of the current musical landscape: as if the band’s intensely busy nationwide touring schedule and appearances was not enough proof, the band will also be embarking on even more out-of-the-country appearances and dates all throughout the year. Loyal fans and even new-comer listeners can expect simply a stronger, more-focused and –if possible – an even more sonically adventurous outfit that’s bound for bigger leaps and larger-goals-achieved this year, as FRANCO remains hungrier, busier and determined and aggressive as ever in spreading the modern rock gospel... In a nutshell, FRANCO is a hundred and ten percent ready to take-on worldwide shores and horizons; and the only question that remains is if the rest of the world is strapped-in tight and prepared to be taken on a wild, musical ride of this magnitude.
