After weeks and days of dropping hints through photos and videos which circulated to different social media platforms, Eraserheads set to reunite for a concert.
Last Friday, September 17, members of Eraserheads Ely Buendia, Buddy Zabala, Raymund Marasigan, and Marcus Adoro - all shared images of an inverted letter "E" resembling the band's logo on their own Instagram sites.
Ely Buendia confirmed the reunion concert as the Filipino rock band announced the long-awaited event, which will take place at SMDC Festival Grounds this December 22, through a poster on each of their personal Instagram accounts today, Sept. 19. The poster makes reference to their well-known first album's cover, "Ultraelectromagneticpop! " published in 1993.
The songs "Ang Huling El Bimbo," "Magasin," "Alapaap," "Spoliarium," "Ligaya," and "Pare Ko" were among their best-known compositions.
The four rock band members came together for the first time in 1989. They performed together for more than ten years until splitting up in 2002.
They held a concert back in 2008, but it was cut short when Ely Buendia had to be taken to the hospital due to chest pains. They came back together on stage in March 2009 for their reunion performance, "The Final Set," at the Mall of Asia Concert Grounds, but pursued different paths individually after the concert.
Just then, Ely made a tease about the band's comeback last year, joking that if former Vice President Leni Robredo runs for President, the band might get back together, which is now set to happen.
The reunion concert to be held excites the fans as the tickets will be announced soon.
