Ben&Ben Keeping It Positive Amidst This Pandemic And Lockdown Situation

Despite the lockdown during this pandemic, Ben&Ben still sees the positive side. One thing is to be more creative and think of how we can move forward. It’s time to start this new reality, somehow a good thing but can also be challenging.

Award-winning Filipino band, Ben&Ben will drop their new single, “Lifetime” on June 4 (Thursday) via Sony Music.

The intricately produced, folk-pop ballad was written as a response to a fan’s YouTube comment on their hit song “Pagtingin,” which to date, has amassed more than a hundred million streams on YouTube and Spotify combined.

The fan, who goes by the alias of “Anne Jou,” shared her story of regretting not being able to express her feelings because she was afraid to lose the friendship.

It's the first song that was recorded individually by the band in their own respective closets which is something new to them. They also added that the process was more efficient and faster than the usual recording as they have their own phase to record their parts individually. It only shows that they always want to give their best and share their music with their fans whatever the limitations are.

“Lifetime” was mixed by the veteran sound engineer JP Verona, and mastered by Grammy Award-winning Leon Zervos (Pink, Rihanna, Maroon 5, Beastie Boys, and Willie Nelson). It was written by Miguel and Paolo Benjamin, and recorded and produced by the band itself.

“Lifetime” will be released on all digital platforms worldwide on June 4, (12 midnight, Thursday).

Here is Ben&Ben's Lifetime in words

Was there a lifetime waiting for us

In a world where I was yours?

Paper planes and porcelain

Smell of rain through the window pane

and the sight of you

Oh, you were a good dream

I was scared to lose you then

But secrets turn into regrets

Buried feelings grow

Oh, you were a good dream

Was there a lifetime waiting for us

In a world where I was yours?

Was it the wrong time? what if we tried

Giving in a little more

To the warmth we had before

Tangled with another's eyes

Never mind, you were never mine

glimpse of me and you

Oh you were a good dream

Was there a lifetime waiting for us

In a world where I was yours?

Was it the wrong time, what if we tried

Giving in a little more?

I'd spend a lifetime waiting in vain

Just to go back to the way we were before

Was it the wrong time? what if we tried

Giving in a little more?

To the warmth we had before

Was there a lifetime waiting for us?

All this time, I have been yours
