RED HORSE BEER MUZIKLABAN MECHANICS


  • The competition is open to amateur bands who will meet the following criteria:
    • Groups whose members are all aged 18-34 by August 15, 2008, male or female, with no recording/distribution deals with any major recording label
    • Groups whose members are or were never part of any professional musical outfits
    • Groups whose members are or were never finalists of musical events and/or contests of any direct competitor of San Miguel Brewery Inc and its parent company San Miguel Corporation.
    • Groups whose recorded materials have never been aired on a regular basis on national radio stations
    • Groups who have previously joined Muziklaban but have never qualified for the Grand Final.
  • All members must be Filipino citizens.
  • All bands must submit the following requirements along with the entry form:
    • Clearly recorded demo tape or VCD/DVDs containing two (2) original compositions and one (1) cover song. Total recording time should not exceed 15 minutes.
    • Pictures of the band performing should also be submitted.
    • All cassette tapes or VCD/DVDs must be labeled clearly with the band’s name and titles of each song
    • Lyrics of the band’s original compositions must be typewritten.
    • Enclose the completed entry form and the above-stated requirements in an envelope with ten (10) crowns of any kind of Red Horse beer per band member. Seal and indicate on the envelope the band name.
  • In cases where the band cannot provide a demo on their own, they may join the free recording sessions from June 16 to August 15 2008 to be held nationwide. Schedule is subject to change without prior notice.
  • Bands will be required to bring their own instruments (except drums) and tapes/CDs during the demo recording sessions.
  • Please visit www.redhorsebeer.com or tune in to NU 107 and other Muziklaban radio partners nationwide for further announcement and recording session schedules and venues.

  • Drop entries at Red Horse Beer Muziklaban 2008 drop boxes located in all San Miguel Brewery Inc Sales Offices and participating trade outlets.

    • Bands may also submit their entries during any of the free recording sessions nationwide.
  • Deadline of submission of entries is on August 15, 2008.
  • Entries with incomplete requirements will be automatically disqualified.
  • Demo tapes or VCDs/DVDs of eligible bands will be screened per area to qualify for the elimination rounds.
  • Qualifying bands will be contacted through their mobile phones or landline. Announcement of qualifying bands will be available at www.redhorsebeer.com , and Muziklaban radio partners nationwide.
  • Qualifying bands will compete in the elimination rounds in their designated areas. The top bands from each elimination round will move on to compete in the Semi-Finals. The top band from each Semi-Final round will be declared as the Area Champion. The area champion and the 1st runner up per area will compete during the grand finals except for GMA which will have area champions from GMA North and GMA South. For a total of 10 grand-finalists.
  • The top bands from each Semifinals and Grand Finals shall receive the following:
  • Grand Champion – P1,000,000.00 cash tax free, sponsorship of album and RHB endorsement contract
  • Area Champions – P10,000.00 cash tax free and RHB premium items
  • Rakistas’ Choice – P 10,000.00 cash tax free and RHB premium items
  • Other Special Awards
  • The grand cash prize of P 1,000,000 will be awarded to the winning band in equal quarterly partial payments within one (1) whole year starting December 2008. A waiver will be signed by all members in agreement.
  • The Grand Champion must be willing to reside in Manila for one (1) year at their cost or shoulder their own transportation and hotel accommodation costs every time they are required to appear in Red Horse Beer events.
  • Red Horse Beer will provide the following:
    • Semi-Finals
      • Winners of the Elimination Round will be given a fixed allowance of Php 5,000.00 to cover their expenses (Transportation, Hotel & Accommodation, Meals, etc.) for the Semi-Finals
    • Finals
      • Transportation allowance (Land Transfer and/or Airfare) to Grand Finalists outside the general area of the competition
      • Transportation to all Grand Finalists throughout the entire course of the Grand Finals for the Pre-Grand Finals activities and Grand Finals day
      • Meals to all Grand Finalists throughout the entire course of the Grand Finals leg
      • Hotel Accommodations to all Grand Finalists throughout the entire course of the Grand Finals leg
  • Red Horse Beer reserves the right to use any of the materials submitted or performed by the participants during the competition for promotions and other purposes.
  • All materials submitted and recorded by the participants will become property of Red Horse Beer. Red Horse Beer reserves the right not to return these materials to the bands.
  • Red Horse Beer reserves the right to disqualify any band at any given time, for any reason whatsoever.
  • Employees of Events Circuit, J. Walter Thompson, Starcom Media Group San Miguel Brewery Inc and its parent company San Miguel Corporation, its agencies, promo suppliers and their respective relatives up to second degree of consanguinity are disqualified from joining the competition.
