yung tone that cuts through the mix?
for bassists in bands with twin lead guitars, keyboardists and even more players [like a violinist in the band I play session bass for] .

No - somehow I'm still working on it...

i used to play in a band with twin lead guitarists and it was really hard to get through both of them! buti nalang Rye had me use his Charvel as bass and it has active pickups so I had a smooth time getting heard.
pero in Sea of Rains you really have to get those mids out - Ram has a real ear for it haha. i enjoy using the Zoom B2.1U for getting thru the mix of the other band members

Naexperience ko nung ngtry ako mgbass at iwan yung pagitara.. Sa una sobrang hirap lalo na showband.. Ibat ibang amp wala naman ako effects so asa tlga ako sa actve eq nung bass q.. Sa amp nkflat na lang ung eq ko.. Or cut ko yung mid..
Nakikiramdam na lang ako habang nasa gitna ng set and focus sa kick, then timpla ng lakas at eq, depende s tugtugan...

Wag lang mauubusan ng 9 volts batt. Hahaha..

i usually bring along an extension cord and my own adapter on gigs plus passive bass ko


usually kapag maganda yung amp and yung lugar masarap timplahin yung tone...

For pups

hindi pa e. working on it. siguro panget lang bass ko.

but having a bass equalizer pedal helps

try mu mag active.. or gamet ka bass eq, and compressor..

at a gig i think last year, trip na trip ko yung bass amp dun. flat na flat lang yung tunog tapos yung flicker ng daliri ko sa cables dinig...uhm.... basta di ko maexplain, wala tlga kasi akong ganagamit na effects bass EQ lang... basta maganda yung tunog tas solid. If memory serves me right Mesa yung amp na yun eh.

May alam ba ditong mag replicate ng tone ni Lalay sa kantang "Alert the Armory?" (Lalo na yung solo-ish part around 1:30) or... at least alam kung anong effect gamit nya dun?

still looking for it, pero nakita ko rin yun nung naka gamit ako ng sansamp preamp ng isang kaibigan
so ang hinahanap ko na lang ngayon eh yung pambili neto tsk

nakihiram ako ng Hartke na pre amp nung isang gig namin. Kahit medyo mahina ung bass ko dahil sa amps ng bar tlagang lumakas sya at na- enjoy ko tlga ung tunog. I'll buy one for myself
