Album: To Be Heard.
Artist: 18th Issue
Independent Release
18th Issue is a 4 man band consisting of Ting Ocampo on lead Vocals, Zeus Masilungan on guitars and back-up vocals, Bassist Art Asuncion, and drummer Jimbo Aguas. This 7-year old pack started out rockin' PWU with their progressive funk approach during the band's early years, when being a pepper, (Chili, that is) seemed the best a bare-chested boy could do. To boot, they've already won several contests including MTV's Band Alert in 1998, and in 2002, Redhorse Musiklaban (beating bands you probably love right now.. no sweat.).
Stating Funk-rock gods Red Hot Chili Peppers and Infectious Grooves as their primal influences, together with new school funk icons Incubus, and several other bands from every diversity of Rock, This band has already inculcated a uniqueness that is their own, combining influece and undeniable talent to establish a sound that is completely gripping and original, it is total mind-fuck.
Musical style can be sufficiently defined as a fusion of POWER FUNK, metal, rap & rock & roll with heavy progression. Influenced by any old & new school FUNK genres. Bands like Infectious Grooves, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, George Clinton & all the 70's Funk scene. On stage, 18th Issue displays uncommon ferocity & flair, exuding a character completely gripping & completely original. Playin with groove, power, attitude & style.
